This boutique hotel is located perfectly next to Aspen Mountain. It’s within walking distance to all of Aspen’s landmarks, restaurants and hotspots and offers spectacular views over Aspen and the Rocky Mountains from the top floor terraces. Very nice!

This beautiful boutique hotel is located in Deià, amidst the Tramuntana Mountains of Mallorca and said to be one of Spain’s most luxurious hotels. Historical buildings have been converted into a 5-star hotel by keeping most original features and furnishing it with local antiques.

La Residencia has 2 outdoor and an indoor pool, plus 3 luxury suites with their own private pools.
It is also home of the famous El Olivo gourmet restaurant.

The hotel was once owned by Richard Branson of Virgin before Orient-Express Hotels took over in 2002.

The Thompson Hotel Beverly Hills is located in downtown Beverly Hills and in walking distance of the Rodeo Drive shopping area. The hotel has been designed to merge the cool aesthetic of late 1960’s design with the elegance of Beverly Hills. It has 107 stylish rooms with custom made furniture. The hotel hallways feature art work by fashion photographer Steven Klein. The rooftop bar and pool lounge of the Thompson Hotel offer stunning views over Beverly Hills, downtown Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills.

The Thompson Hotel Group have 10 hotels in the U.S. and 1 in London but is expanding to Canada and Korea with properties in Toronto and Seoul. Their first project was Sixty Thompson in New York, a luxury boutique hotel which opened in 2001. All Thompson hotels are meant to attract an urban, bohemian clientele by offering “quiet luxury”.

The Avatar Hotel Santa Clara is great for a stay in Silicon Valley. It’s just opposite Santa Clara’s Yahoo headquarters. All 167 guest rooms of this 3-star hotel are modern and reflect the spirit of the area. Being also a business hotel, there still is an happy hour with complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres every evening. Breakfast is at the attached IHOP restaurant. The Avatar Hotel also has an outdoor pool.

Joie de Vivre is a collection of 35 boutique hotels located in California. They are mainly 3-star hotels and 4-star hotels, all with their own special character from fancy, modern to romantic or even in Japanese style.

Hotel Pic of the Week: Delano Hotel Miami Beach

The Delano Hotel is known for its unconventional, art-deco styling and its celebrity clientele. It features 194 guest rooms, suites and lofts, directly on the beach. The hotel is part of the Morgans Hotel Group collection. The Delano is an art hotel, designed by Philippe Starck, a well-known French product designer. The collection of furniture and objects shown at the hotel includes works from artists such as Antonio Gaudi, Man Ray, Charles and Ray Eames, Salvador Dali and Mark Newson. Other Delano Hotel highlights include an indoor/outdoor lobby, orchard, pool with underwater music and a rooftop spa.

Miami Beach has a large collection of art-deco buildings, with around thirty blocks of hotels and apartment houses from the 1920s to the 1940s. Nearly all have now been restored and painted in their original pastel colors.
